We hope you are enjoying the Fall season as much as we are! We have a lot going on at Dream A Little Dream. Merritt started to preschool in September. She enjoys going and is already learning to write her name.
Here she is on her first day in her Back to School Chalkboard Tee and matching Black and White PolkaDot Ruffle pants. I think this is our favorite Back to School shirt that Carla made.
We just had our largest show of the year a couple of weeks ago and we are recovering from Wyatt's 3rd Birthday Party this past weekend. Both events were a huge success :)
Happy 3rd Birthday Wyatt! We celebrated with Wyatt's favorite characters from Toy Story.
Slinky Dog Banner handmade by Casey. Casey is an avid scrapbooker who enjoys drawing and creating unique paper items. This was a fun project and everyone at the party seemed to love it.
The highlight of the party was definately the cake!! This cake was made by our dear friend Brittany Siniard. We all grew up together as neighbors but Brittany feels more like family. I (Casey) was so honored that Brittany took the time out of her VERY busy schedule to make Wyatt's cake.
Wyatt and Merritt couldn't keep their eyes off of the cake. Wyatt loves the toys and Merritt loves the cake...LOL!
With Fall in the air this year's turkey tee has been a big hit. We are currently working on and still taking orders for our very popular Mr. and Miss Turkey tee. This turkey was a big seller last year so Carla kicked it up a bit and added a bow on Miss Turkey and a necktie on Mr. Turkey. The response was unbelievable. We have sold so many and still getting orders for them. Here are a few pictures of our Turkey tees.
Miss Turkey on orange sold out quickly.
We are very excited to promote our most recent OOAK Swing Top!
This is a One of a Kind original Swing Top designed and handmade by us at Dream A Little Dream. We love making and remaking all of our pieces but it is a special treat to get our heads together and design and create a OOAK item. We hope you love our JOY Swing Top as much as we do.
It is a strap dress style which is very size friendly. This top works best on sizes 3,4 and 5. This special design will go up for auction on our Facebook page tomorrow. Please join us tomorrow and bid on our textile art :)
Thanks to all of our friends for your continued support. We are so thankful.

"All About Merritt"
All About Merritt
Ahhhh the things that she does! So Merritt has gotten REALLY into listening to New Kids on the Block over the past couple of months! It's my fault really. I DVRed the "Coming Home" concert and played it a couple of times.................. ok ok several times..................well........... I played it a lot. So now Merritt insist on having it or their old videos on the TV at all times. Oh and did I mention that NO ONE can be in the room with her while she watches? She wants to be able to sing and dance along. (Casey thinks I should set up a camera, stay tuned)
So I am in the sewing room working and she is in the living room with her "sparkle shoes" on, her coat (because Jordan has one on) and Chandler's clip on tie (because Donnie has one on). The other day she told Nanny she had a boyfriend...... his name is Donnie! During the "Cover Girl" video she actually kisses the screen when he is on there! She also watches "Blue Bloods" with me every Friday night and says "Theres Donnie" like every 10 seconds!
I can say this.... she has excellent taste!!
It is getting to the point that I need to keep a daily log of the things that she says. This morning I came out of the bedroom ready to go on a fabric run and she says "Oh no! You can't wear that. It's not cute." She walked over to my closet and looked up at the shirts, put her hand on one and said "I probably like this." That is how my day started. I was dressed by a two year old. : |
Merritt is a very girly girl and loves to try on clothes and wear jewelry. She looks just like her Daddy, but unfortunately she has my attitude! So there is something I could write about everyday. She keeps us all in check and knows more at 2 than Eric or myself ever will!

Our next show!
We love doing our craft shows! In fact we love it so much that we have decided to do a trunk show of our very own. A local bank has a community room that we have rented and are inviting everyone to come and browse our current inventory. We are so glad that we will be there with our good friend Christy from "Purple Teasures" and my mother will be selling her wonderful handmade soap there as well. We are hoping it will be a great success and we will meet a lot of new faces and see some familiar ones as well.
So the preparations have started already! We are stocking up on a lot of our most popular dresses, shirts and more. We have a lot of work to do and are managing it quite well considering that we each have a 2 year old running rampant through our home. Merritt is catching on quickly when it comes to putting a bobbin in an embroidery machine! So maybe in about oh..... 10 years I will assign her permanent duties as a appliqué cutter. Although when she gets that old I will have to pay her with money instead of suckers. Wyatt is catching on nicely as well! As I was talking to Casey earlier he was turning on the sewing machine. Hmmmm... maybe he can learn to cut out ruffle pants.

It's a New Year!
We had a great Christmas! It was the first one that Casey and I can remember that it actually snowed on Christmas Day! WOW, our first "White Christmas!" Merritt was excited that morning when she woke up.
With all of the Holiday madness we still had the time to sit and take our "Dream A Little Dream" family photo. So, here we are all together in front of our Christmas tree. And yes, we were pleasantly surprised that Merritt and Wyatt actually sit still long enough to get that shot!
Now this was not an easy task! Picture this.... Casey and I are froze in time with a constant smile on our face. My mother, who is taking the picture, is trying to bribe Merritt with food and my Aunt Dianne is in the background holding up Sweetie (a Boston Terrier), so she can play peek-a-boo with Wyatt. Welcome to our world! Only here can the children be bribed with food and game playing dogs! After about 15 shots we finally have all of us making our “picture face.” Stay tuned for many more.

We are so proud of our custom logo! It was originally designed by Carla and then perfected by an Etsy friend. Here it is on the banner that was custom made for us.
